The basics

Science Communication, Mediation, and Popularization? Understand their specificities.

Write science

Communicating means making your results accessible, informing clearly and transparently about projects to ultimately facilitate transfer and implementation in non-expert environments: professional, political, and among beneficiaries. Hence the importance of making yourself well understood in all types of writing!

Speak science

The speaker cannot hide behind their knowledge. Their presence is part of the experience and is inseparable from the content for their audience. Similarly, the audience influences the speaker. Even if the interaction is neither explicit nor conscious, it is very real.

The preparation for public speaking should begin with understanding the context and defining objectives. This can be learned.

Produce a podcast

Having exploded in popularity in recent years, podcasts have evolved into numerous formats. There are, for example, news podcasts close to the radio genre, roundtable formats where discussions bloom among participants, or fictional narratives that immerse us in a more enveloping universe.

But beyond shedding light on a theme or providing entertainment, podcasts can convey a message. This medium is particularly suited for explaining science.

Produce a video

Sometimes, images and diagrams need to come to life. Whether to illustrate more clearly or to distribute information progressively, it’s necessary to have control over what you wish to convey.

2D animation such as motion design, 3D animation, and ultimately film production are powerful mediums, conveying a clear and defined message.

Interacting with the Media

Creating your press kits, distributing them to the right people, organizing your press events, and – of course – translating technical jargon, cannot be improvised.

Infographic, Data Visualization

What is an infographic, and how does it stand out from other media? Why and how are infographics used in science communication and knowledge mobilization?

Finding Your Place on Social Networks

Distributing your information on social networks and positioning yourself as a specialist takes time and follows an editorial line strategy.
